The prerequisites for the Denver Health Paramedic School are:
- Minimum age of 18 and graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate
- Successful completion of an EMT-Basic training program
- Current EMT-Basic or Intermediate certification
- Work experience as an EMT-B or EMT-I
- Current BLS certification (CPR Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer)
- Three letters of recommendation (click here for recommendation forms)

- Students must have successfully completed Anatomy and Physiology I and II as defined by the Colorado Community Colleges and Occupational Educational Services (CCCOES). This requirement can be met by education determined to be equivalent through a formative challenge assessment process that leads to equivalent credit. Upon completion of the Denver Health Paramedic School, National Registry Certification will require:
- Certification in CPR for Health Care Providers (included)
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by the American Heart Association (included)
